Overview

Just like our youngsters, Bergans is committed to protect and preserve nature and to utilize resources to its fullest. This is why the school pack Aksla 30 is made with 100% recycled polyester from plastic bottles. This is a pack specially designed for school kids and feature a reinforced back and padded sholder straps to provide optimal support. Large zipper opening at the top makes it easy to take things in and out of the pack and keep control. Inside, the bag has a protective pocket for laptop or other assets that need extra protection. On both sides of the pack you will find spacious pockets perfectly fitted for a bottle or a pair of gloves. This is also where you will find the bag’s sig ... nal colored rain cover. Thanks to plenty of reflective details, the Aksla 30 is visible from all angles in the dark, providing a safer walk to school. The pack is compatible with Aksla PLUS – a gym bag that can also be used separately. The general recommendation is that the backpack should not be loaded to more than 10-15% of the child's own body weight.

PFAS-free

Bergans products with water-repellent functionality have no intentionally added PFAS in the surface treatment. PFAS (per- and polyfluoroalkyl substances) are a large group of chemicals that have traditionally been widely used in water-repellent DWR (Durable Water Repellent) treatments. The treatment causes water and dirt to bead up and roll off the surface rather than penetrate the fabric. PFAS break down very slowly in the environment and are therefore often referred to as “forever chemicals”. They can accumulate over time, both in the environment and in living organisms, and several PFAS compounds have been shown to pose a risk to human health and the environment. Since 2016, Bergans has been actively working to phase out PFAS-containing substances from our products and replace them with PFAS-free treatments. All membranes we use are already PFAS-free. The water-repellent performance of the outer fabric will gradually diminish with use. As a result, the outer fabric may absorb more moisture, which can reduce breathability and comfort – even though the garment remains waterproof. To maintain the garment’s performance over time, we recommend regular washing and re-impregnate when needed. Read more about how to wash and re-impregnate your garment here.
