Overview

The Dyna Down Hood Jacket is a warm down jacket developed for outings of all kinds, from trail to street. Blending stylish design with technical details, it’s crafted with a 100% polyester face fabric treated with a PFAS-free water-repellent finish. Filled with 80/20 RDS-certified duck down with 550 cuin fill power providing natural loft and warmth, while PrimaLoft® Black insulation in the front flap and pocket flaps adds reliable performance in exposed areas. The detachable hood attaches with snap buttons and adjusts with Velcro at the back for customizable coverage. Practical front pockets with flap and snap-button closure include hand-warmer compartments for extra comfort. A regular fit makes layering easy, while elastic inner cuffs, an adjustable hem cord, and an internal women’s waistband cord fine-tune the fit. Finished with an extended back panel and protective zip flap, it’s a versatile, stylish jacket for everyday adventures.

Fabric details: Main material features 100% polyester face fabric with a PFAS-free water repellency treatment. The jacket is filled with 100% 80/20 RDS-certified duck down, 550 cuin, and incorporates PrimaLoft® Black Insulation on the center front flap and pocket flaps. All linings, insulation, and trimmings are bluesign® APPROVED.

Hood: Detachable hood with snap-button attachment and Velcro adjustment at the back for a customizable fit.

Pockets: Front pockets with flap and snap-button closure, featuring hand-warmer compartments for extra comfort.

Additional features: Elastic inner cuffs, adjustable bottom hem cord, and an internal waistband cord for women to allow a customizable fit. Flap above the front zip with snap-button closure and an extended back panel for added coverage.

PFAS-free

All our products marked with the PFAS-free logo use a water repellent treatment that is free of PFAS substances.

PFAS (Per- and polyfluoroalkyl substances) is a group of more than 10.000 substances also known as fluorocarbons. They build up in nature as they do not degrade. In greater concentrations, they are proven to pose a hazard to both human health and the environment.

PFAS has been common to use for the so-called “Durable Water Repellent” finish (DWR): It means that water bounces off the surface rather than being absorbed by the fabric and making it wet. Using PFAS has been an effective treatment to achieve a durable water repellency for waterproof fabrics, but also other applications like ski waxes or food packaging.

Since these chemicals have shown to be harmful for both people and the environment, Bergans is working to phase out all fabrics containing PFAS finish and replace with more environmentally friendly, PFAS-free treatments. All the membranes we use are already free for PFAS. You can read more on PFAS and how we work to eliminate these.

A significant part of the challenge of using alternatives to PFAS lies in the lower durability of these water repellent solutions. That means that using a waterproof garment with a PFAS-free finishing requires you to re-impregnate these more often than before, to achieve a good water-repellent functionality also over time and after many washes. Anyhow, please always consider where and when it’s necessary to reduce environmental impact.
