Vega Softshell Cargo Pants Women are relaxed-fit cargo hiking pants developed for day hikes, cabin life, and everyday adventures. Engineered for women, they blend outdoor performance with a clean, modern look and all-day comfort. The softshell fabric of 89% polyamide and 11% elastane, delivers stretch, durability, and PFAS-free water repellency, so you move easily and stay comfortable as weather shifts. A pre-adjusted elastic waistband with webbing adjustment lets you fine-tune the fit on the go. The relaxed cut with slightly tapered legs transitions smoothly from trail to town. Smart storage includes two hand pockets, flap-covered thigh cargo pockets, and a back pocket for quick access. An internal elastic hem tightening seals neatly over boots or sneakers. Light, durable, and versatile, these are the pants you’ll reach for every time you head out. Comfortable in a busy everyday routine and dependable in the mountains.

PFAS-free

Bergans products with water-repellent functionality have no intentionally added PFAS in the surface treatment. PFAS (per- and polyfluoroalkyl substances) are a large group of chemicals that have traditionally been widely used in water-repellent DWR (Durable Water Repellent) treatments. The treatment causes water and dirt to bead up and roll off the surface rather than penetrate the fabric. PFAS break down very slowly in the environment and are therefore often referred to as “forever chemicals”. They can accumulate over time, both in the environment and in living organisms, and several PFAS compounds have been shown to pose a risk to human health and the environment. Since 2016, Bergans has been actively working to phase out PFAS-containing substances from our products and replace them with PFAS-free treatments. All membranes we use are already PFAS-free. The water-repellent performance of the outer fabric will gradually diminish with use. As a result, the outer fabric may absorb more moisture, which can reduce breathability and comfort – even though the garment remains waterproof.
