Overview

Your go-to garment when things get cold. Røros Insulated Overskirt is an extremely lightweight heat insulator garment with unisex fit. The skirt is designed to function as an extra heat-insulating layer on top of other pants. It features PrimaLoft® Black insulation and windproof and water-repellent Pertex® Quantum outer fabric. It is super packable, meaning that it occupies minimal space in your pack. Just as perfect for ski touring as for a cosy evening back at the hut. NB: The skirt has a fit that suits both women and men but is produced according to the women's size chart. Men should therefore choose one size up.

PFAS-free

Bergans products with water-repellent functionality have no intentionally added PFAS in the surface treatment. PFAS (per- and polyfluoroalkyl substances) are a large group of chemicals that have traditionally been widely used in water-repellent DWR (Durable Water Repellent) treatments. The treatment causes water and dirt to bead up and roll off the surface rather than penetrate the fabric. PFAS break down very slowly in the environment and are therefore often referred to as “forever chemicals”. They can accumulate over time, both in the environment and in living organisms, and several PFAS compounds have been shown to pose a risk to human health and the environment. Since 2016, Bergans has been actively working to phase out PFAS-containing substances from our products and replace them with PFAS-free treatments. All membranes we use are already PFAS-free. The water-repellent performance of the outer fabric will gradually diminish with use. As a result, the outer fabric may absorb more moisture, which can reduce breathability and comfort – even though the garment remains waterproof. To maintain the garment’s performance over time, we recommend regular washing and re-impregnate when needed. Read more about how to wash and re-impregnate your garment here.
