Overview

Yes, it has sleeves and yes, we still call it a poncho. The reason why we do this is that Oslo Poncho have all the qualities a poncho offers, only that it is a little easier to move in because it is given sleeves. This super comfy garment really manages to combine the sporty and the classic look and by that be the perfect combo of fashion and function. It is lightweight, waterproof (min. 10 000 mm water column), windproof and breathable. The detailing affirms that it is designed with commuters in mind either you are walking or bicycling. An ingenious detail is the ability to attach the front of the poncho to the handlebars with small loops, so that you form a mini dome over your legs. This g ... ives increased freedom of movement, while protecting the thighs in a perfect way. To all you everyday cyclists, you are going to love this feature. The hood is sized to helmets but can also quickly be adjusted to head size. Reflective details. And last but not least; yes, this is a unisex piece that also can be worn by men with good taste and sense of style. NB: All our Oslo styles have a loose and straight fit and will therefore be perceived as large in size - approx. one size larger than other Bergans outdoor clothing.

PFAS-free

Bergans products with water-repellent functionality have no intentionally added PFAS in the surface treatment. PFAS (per- and polyfluoroalkyl substances) are a large group of chemicals that have traditionally been widely used in water-repellent DWR (Durable Water Repellent) treatments. The treatment causes water and dirt to bead up and roll off the surface rather than penetrate the fabric. PFAS break down very slowly in the environment and are therefore often referred to as “forever chemicals”. They can accumulate over time, both in the environment and in living organisms, and several PFAS compounds have been shown to pose a risk to human health and the environment. Since 2016, Bergans has been actively working to phase out PFAS-containing substances from our products and replace them with PFAS-free treatments. All membranes we use are already PFAS-free. The water-repellent performance of the outer fabric will gradually diminish with use. As a result, the outer fabric may absorb more moisture, which can reduce breathability and comfort – even though the garment remains waterproof. To maintain the garment’s performance over time, we recommend regular washing and re-impregnate when needed. Read more about how to wash and re-impregnate your garment here.
