  4. This is Bergans Rabot: Technical Hiking Clothing for Year-Round Use

Bergans has been out in all kinds of weather since 1908. For more than a hundred years, our equipment has accompanied long days in wind, rain, sun and snow. This experience has taught us that nature sets high demands – and that experienced outdoor enthusiasts expect their gear to perform, every time. With the Rabot collection, you get technically advanced outdoor clothing with all our accumulated experience built into every seam.

All Rabot products are developed to withstand an active outdoor lifestyle, all year round. The garments are designed for classic outdoor activities, where durability, function and reliability always matter more than trends. It’s not about owning many garments for different purposes, but about having fewer products that can handle more.

Rabot is made for people who spend a lot of time outdoors and require a technical level that meets the needs of even the most active among us

Material Quality That Lasts

The materials used in the Rabot collection are carefully selected and thoroughly tested for long-term durability. Hard-wearing outer fabrics, robust constructions and thoughtfully placed reinforcements ensure the garments can withstand repeated use in demanding terrain. These are technical outdoor garments built to last – season after season, in all conditions.

Reliable Weather Protection

Reliable weather protection is essential when conditions change quickly. Rabot includes technical shell garments that provide dependable protection against wind and rain, while being designed to perform over time. This creates confidence on long trips, in exposed terrain and when the weather is working against you.

High Breathability

Technical clothing is not only about keeping water out, but also about letting excess heat escape. Rabot products are engineered with a strong focus on breathability and moisture management, helping you stay dry and comfortable, even when the pace increases and your pack is heavy.

Designed for Layering

Rabot garments are developed to work optimally together within a layering system. This provides the flexibility to adapt your clothing to activity level, temperature and weather, and to mix and match pieces in the way that best suits your body and movement.

When the layers work together, you get maximum performance from each garment – which is especially practical on longer trips where you want to carry as little equipment as possible

A More Responsible Choice

Wherever possible, recycled materials are used in the Rabot collection, and all materials are bluesign® approved. The wool and down are certified according to the Responsible Wool Standard (RWS) and Responsible Down Standard (RDS).

FAQ – Questions we often get

How should you dress using a layering system for hiking and outdoor trips?

Start with a base layer that moves moisture away from the skin, add an insulating mid-layer, and adjust your outer layer according to weather and conditions. Layering makes it easier to regulate temperature throughout the entire trip.

What are the benefits of technical outdoor clothing?

Technical outdoor clothing is designed for life outdoors and provides greater comfort in motion through smart material choices, functional design and solutions that help the body manage weather and activity.

Why is ventilation important in outdoor clothing?

Ventilation allows excess heat to escape and reduces moisture buildup when you are active. This helps you stay drier and more comfortable, especially on trips with varying intensity.

What clothing do you need for outdoor activities year-round?

A solid foundation consists of base layers and insulating mid-layers. Outer layers are then chosen based on wind, rain and temperature, allowing the same system to be used across multiple seasons.
