How to store down jackets?

As winter turns to spring, it's time to prepare your down jacket for storage. Here are our best tips for storing your down jacket.

Store your down jacket in the off-season

*1. Clean and prepare the down jacket: Make sure the jacket is clean and dry before hanging it up. If necessary, wash it according to our washing tips before hanging it up for the season.

*2. Check the jacket for damage: Before storage, it is a good idea to check the down jacket for damage. Fix any problems as soon as possible to prevent them from getting bigger. If you do not have a repair patch in the right colour, you can contact customer service at Bergans, with the name/number of the jacket and the colour, and we will send one to you. If any feathers are sticking out, try to push them in instead of pulling them out.

3. Hang the jacket on a hanger: Store the down jacket on a hanger in a cool, dry and well-ventilated place. You should not compress the jacket in a bag or box. Then the down can clump together.
