Bergans’ ultralight favorite celebrates its 20th anniversary in 2021. Helium v5 is the latest generation in a family of packs that’s been to all corners of the world (including all three poles) - a family that is preferred by extreme expeditions and normal hikers alike. For this fifth generation of the Helium pack we pulled all the stops and made our own custom fabric, from high-quality Nylon 66 and Black Dyneema® ripstop. It offers incredible strength and durability. Just because the pack is ultralight does not mean it skimps on carrying comfort. Adjustable torso length, a triple-density harness and an articulating hip belt all combine to a smooth carry. The weight is still among the lowest compared to packs of the same size and carrying comfort. Helium v5 55 is also designed in a way that allows it to be stripped down to a simpler and far lighter version of itself. And if you really want to carry light, you can detach the hip belt and the Lid and combine them into a hip bag. Brilliant and easy! Another difference from earlier versions is the diagonal full-length zipper that provide you with super easy access to your stuff. Apart from that, Helium is still the versatile and highly functional outdoor pack it has always been through its 20-year long career.
Carrying system
Bergans QuickAdjust™ PRO, adjustable torso length. Multi position load lifters. Soft, comfortable and ventilating air mesh at harness and hip belt. Triple density construction. Hip belt with a wide range of motion. Comfortable dual density foam with Iliac Crest Relief. Pull Forward hip belt adjustment system. Sledge attachment points. Stabilizing straps that improve stability by pulling the pack closer to the body. The hip belt is detachable, removing it saves 165 gr.
Pack
Classic top opening with spindrift collar combined with a diagonal zip opening in front, ensures hassle-free access to pack content. Double side compression straps on each side. Durable, comfortable and tough Nylon 66 fabric in combination with ripstop made of the the strong, light and versatile Dyneema® fiber.
Pockets
Generous open side mesh pockets. Big external pocket with key hook in the lid.
Top lid
Height adjustable, detachable top lid (saves 55 g in weight). It is possible to make a small hip pack if you remove the hip belt and the lid and combine the two pieces.
Additional features
Hydration system compatible. Adjustable sternum strap. Grab handle at top. Key hook. Plenty of attachment points for items such as ski, hiking poles and ice axe. Bergans PLUS modular attachment points. Two pieces multifunction PLUS straps are provided with the pack. 4703 PLUS Daypack fits to the pack. Attachment point for 4685 Hip Belt Pocket. YKK zippers. Product contains bluesign® approved fabrics and trimmings.
