COLLECTION OF TOMORROW
The products. So far.
It’s not a collection
– It’s far more
Yes, it is really tiny. No, we do not make money on it. Nevertheless, we believe that The Collection of Tomorrow is our most important project. How can we claim something like that? Have a look at the potential:
The Collection of Tomorrow represents a possible solution to close the gap that exist in a product’s life cycle – between recycling and production of new material – making it fully circular. We are not saying that we have reached the goal, but we are certainly taking steps to get there.
Instead of releasing many products at the same time, it is a sequential collection, where one product takes the place of the last. In 2019, it was a backpack, then came the shirt and now we are releasing an anorak… who knows what our next product will be.
The Collection of Tomorrow is simply a totally different way of thinking. We are challenging the way we make products and the way we sell and own products.
We believe it is needed if we are to face the future with our heads held high.
Collection of tomorrow xDanny Larsen
This fall, everyone who buys the anorak in the new color will receive a signed print with a Danny Larsen artwork with it.
We are proud to announce that we have brought artist Danny Larsen with us on this launch. Danny is a former professional snowboarder and passionate about sustainability and circularity.
– I love nature and do everything I can to ensure that my consumption affects mother earth in the smallest way possible. What I like about the The Collection Of Tomorrow is that it uncompromisingly strives to solve one of the biggest challenges of our time, which is how can we reduce our consumption of resources. It represents a totally new way of thinking, says Danny.
– When we see how the climate is screaming for a change, there is no doubt that we need a new way of doing things. We need to wake up!
Just a few decades ago, owning many things was considered a good thing. Today it does not give the same status. Things are about to change.
It is a fact that our planet does not cope with the over-consumption that we in the Western world have maintained over the last 50 years or so. We are simply running out of resources. Ideally, we should probably stop consuming resources at all, but that would not be a good solution either. After all, the commercial structures are the mainstays of our society. We have to think new. Why not use the technology that our prosperity has given us to explore and find new ways to use the resources more efficiently?
A future way of owning
When you buy a The Collection of Tomorrow anorak, it is important that you understand what you actually are buying. Yes, you will own a really nice product, but you will also own a small part of the total amount of Spinnova material that exists in the world.
The value of the product is therefore divided in two; one part is the value of the work done to shape the material into a garment, and the other part is the value of the material itself.
Right now, the material is shaped like an anorak. But in the future, it can be recycled and become a completely different product.
When the product is no longer of use to you, the material still has its value.
How it works
There are 2 ways of purchasing a The Collection of Tomorrow product:
1. Purchase a current product in The Collection of Tomorrow.
Your payment covers the materials + the work done to make it into a product. The materials value for the anorak is 2000 NOK. The work value for the anorak is 1500 NOK.
- or -
2. Swap your used The Collection of Tomorrow product for a new one
The materials value is covered by handing in your product. The work value for the anorak is 1500 NOK which is what you pay. We will recycle your materials into the next generation of The Collection of Tomorrow products. Please contact our Customer Service if you want to use this option.
