Born: 1986
Place: Vikersund, Norway

Anders Backe is a unique talent on skis. He also has a special ability to work hard and with unflinching focus. This has made jibbing both a lifestyle and a livelihood for the boy from Vikersund. He is involved in competitions, photo and film shoots in the USA, Europe, and Scandinavia all year long.

It's perhaps not so strange that it turned out like this. Anders was raised in Vikersund, a place that most Norwegians associate with ski flying. When you grow up in a small town with one of the largest ski jumps in the world, it is quite natural that you feel inclined to fly. Fly high and far.

And that is exactly what Anders did. Anders' father was co-owner of Vikersund Alpinsenter, where the slopes were a natural haunt in his childhood. In other words, he had a varied introduction to speed, height and distance on skis at an early age. As a youth this led him to join the Flying Team Vikersund and achieve success in the Norwegian cup in ski jumping.

Ordinary ski jumping would, nonetheless, not be the path that the ski acrobat would pursue. As a 13 year old, he received his first twin tip skis, and it was then that he really understood where his interest lay.

Since then he has established himself as one the best in Europe in his field, with some great results in competitions, including winning the finals of the X games. He also holds the world record for skiing backwards: 128.7 kilometers an hour. He set this record on his home course at Vikersund ski flying hill.

"Jibbing is in a huge state of development in terms of both tricks and styles. When I began it was only competitions that mattered, but now I am really involved in both filming and photography. This means that I can decide on and plan the projects myself, do things my own way and be part of pushing the sport on my own terms".

Future projects:
Ski as much as possible, find steeper railings and more concrete that form the basis for cutting-edge jibbing. Make everything a bit bigger and tougher than the previous season.
About to complete several large projects, including a role in Field Production's new film Supervention 2, which will be in the movie theaters in October 2016.
